MY SHORT BIO & INTRO
I sincerely believe in universality of human experiences and vitality inherent in human nature, despite any adversities. As such, my psychotherapy is life-affirming and driven by the question, "What's RIGHT with you?" while Healing-Centered Engagement constitutes a foundation of my counselling style.
I enjoy working with individuals as well as with families and couples and see tangible results of our work together in all aspects of your lives. There are no small problems or issues, everything is important if it matters to you.
Before immigrating to Canada, I had been a medical doctor in two countries for over ten years. Regardless of the circumstances of time and place, the psychological well-being of my clients has always been a priority to me. Throughout my life journey, I have had a passion for working with psychological as well as psychiatric conditions. Moreover, I have always believed that it is crucial for therapists to work on their own issues and understand themselves prior to helping others. Thus, I have constantly been working on myself both professionally and personally.
As such, for me becoming a psychotherapist in Canada seems to be a natural continuation of my health care professional's career. I graduated from City University of Seattle (Vancouver Campus) with the Master's Degree in Counselling.

Being in the dark place is so hard. Many people experience emotions and feelings associated with painful and traumatic life circumstances. Anxiety, fear, anger, intrusive memories, flashbacks and hopelessness are just a few things that can linger after traumatic events for a long time. Together we can help you work, reduce and overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
I am a Certified Trauma Treatment Professional and practice evidence-based trauma treatment modalities, including EMDR.
In today's stressful world, depression and anxiety have entered our lives without really asking for our consent. Of course, this is neither about our weakness nor an abnormality. However, regardless of the reasons, it is still troublesome and painful. Luckily, psychotherapy has been found as the most effective way of handling these conditions. In other words, talking about disturbing and distressing things, processing them and finding solutions and resolutions may help to become calmer and more sufficient.
When it comes to couples and families, counseling is often crucial in resolving such issues as confrontations, dealing with infidelity, clarification of common goals, strengthening emotional connections during any relationship stage, handling separation/divorce and its aftermath, blending families, etc..
My relationship counselling includes not only family matters but also dating, loosing and/or maintaining friendships and relationships at work & other life situations.
I also offer services for those who by court order must attend counselling for anger issues and conflict management. Court-mandated clients are welcome.
Individual counselling (50 to 60 minute session) - $130.
Couples/family counselling (75 to 90 minute session) - $150-180.
Walk & Talk option is available if you prefer to spend time outside and get some light exercise during your session. Extra umbrella is available!
House Calls are at the same rate plus travel expenses..
Payments are accepted by e-transfer, cash, or cheque.
Due to my personal immigration journey, I find it's important to pay attention to different cultural upbringing. It shapes us and our understanding of the world and affects our life choices. Moreover, Canadian society has been woven of various "threads", and each person's acculturation is very individual. I am here to listen your story and help to make sense of your experiences in the context of your life and background.
One of the interesting things I've discovered for myself and experience of something called Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA), which became a topic of my final graduate project. That is why I find that creating a safe low-stress environment during the sessions helps in expressing ourselves and being understood no matter what.
I am fully vaccinated and use recommended measures to prevent spread of the COVID-19. We have options to meet:
I promise to be always in tune with your emotional state and give you an external perspective or interpretation. My intention is to help you express yourself most fully, find meaning in your experiences, be gentle to your inner child, restrain your inner parent and find inner adult to move forward to where you would like to be as a part of the transactional analysis approach. With unconditional positive regard and acceptance, I will work together with you on processing, developing new insights and legacy.
